Worship comes from the Old English word worthship, a word which means the worthiness of the one receiving the special honor or devotion. The Bible is very clear in Matthew 6:21, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” The meaning of this verse highlights that a person actions toward someone or something is based upon the value placed on the person or thing. Therefore, worship should be the evidence that a person has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior via his or her expression of the worthiness of God to be worshipped. Revelation 4:11, “You are worthy, O Lord to receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.” This verse reveals to us why God is worthy to be worshipped, without God nothing would exist and because everything that exist is because of God, therefore; every person God created should worship Him simply because he or she appreciates all He has done in his or her life.
