Praise Dancers

The Youth Ministry is a collective group of youth ministries that meet to  map a plan for providing spiritual holistic Christian educational opportunities for youth to include character, social, mental and physical skills.  The Youth Ministry contact person  is Sister Mary Jacobs.  The groups are listed below:

Boys to Men

Boys to Men is a church/community-based mentoring model serving middle and high school boys.  The boys and mentors meet twice a month on Saturdays with mentors for lessons on life, technology, Tutoring and engage in wholesome fun activities including basketball.  Boys to Men mentors o provide the male role models. Not just one man, but a community of mentors and peers who offer the hope, support and guidance boys require in the critical window, when choices can impact a lifetime.

This community-based approach gives boys a safe place to get real and talk about the problems all teenage boys keep inside, and a community where boys know they are NOT ALONE in their feelings.

Praise Dancers ~ Sister Charlonda Thomas and Sister Chasity Thomas

Praise dance is a form of worship that seeks to articulate the word and spirit of God through the body. Though it is far from a new phenomenon — in biblical times, dancing was embraced during celebrations and worship.

Tutoring/Summer Enrichment ~ Rev. Rebecca Pinkney-Thomas

Tutoring and Summer Enrichment Camp promotes self esteem, leadership, and responsibility to all young people as they focus on academic achievement.  To receive a level of educational training, and hands on experience in order to gain knowledge and develop a concept of everyday life, knowing that we can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us.

Nursery ~ Sister Henrietta White

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

Our nursery provides a safe, welcoming, inviting, and loving care to infants and children up to the age of 4 years old. Our nursery is open from 10:00 a.m. until the close of worship on the 2nd – 4th Sunday.

Our Purpose is to recognize the importance of the early years when first impressions of the church are formed, and we want to make this a positive experience for parent and child. Therefore will do everything within our means to provide for each child’s physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs, so that he/she will find church a pleasant experience.
